Jessye Norman, Regal American Soprano, Is Dead at 74

Many many summers ago, when I was a dewy-faced young girl in the flower of my youth, I sang in Ms. Norman’s masterclass when I was in the Phyllis Curtain Seminar at Tanglewood. Ms Norman had performed on the concert series (program insert) the night before and came back the next day to listen to singers. Thank you Ms Norman for listening to me, for your kindness, and for your words of encouragement towards me. RIH
